Methods and Welding Engineer

Boccard Portugal, a subsidiary of Boccard France, is currently recruiting for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative manufacturing processes, program and parameterize fabrication and welding methods, and promote the improvement of welding equipment and processes.
• Develop and validate standardized industrial production methods, including manual and automated welding processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures, and best practices to improve processes, systems and performance.
• Take continuous improvement initiatives that promote operational excellence and safety throughout the organization.
• Support manufacturing activities, engineering office and workshop within the production department.
• Promote development of innovative industrial processes and standardize industrial manufacturing methods and processes, particularly welding processes.
• Define welding processes, parameters and sequences in accordance with project planning; develop welding procedures.
• Program and set up welding methods; promote improvement of welding equipment and processes.
• Enforce company procedures, project specifications and ISO/EN standards; analyze and prevent equipment breakdowns in the manufacturing process.
• Measure and check parameters as needed; develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with production teams to support manufacturing activities and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Profile

• Engineering degree in Welding, Mechanics or similar.
• Technical knowledge (WPS, NDE, manufacturing methods).
• 5 years of experience in welding engineering and/or methods.
• Solid knowledge of structures, boiler/piping manufacturing and welding.
• Microsoft Office proficiency, especially advanced Excel.
• Bilingual in Portuguese and English, with knowledge of French.
• Ability to support manufacturing activities, engineering office and workshop as part of the production department.
