At Hovione, we are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable HSES Specialist to join our team in Portugal. In this role, you will help shape and implement our Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability programs, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace for our employees and surrounding communities.
Your Role
- Implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines across your areas of expertise.
- Promote and ensure compliance with Hovione’s HSE and Sustainability standards, including major accident hazard prevention.
- Conduct and support incident investigations, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
- Perform regular site inspections and internal audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections, including communication with vendors and authorities.
- Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to internal teams.
- Monitor and report HSE performance indicators, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with
- functional teams to support sustainability goals and projects. - Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with GMP, HSE, and company policies.
What You Bring
- University degree in HSE, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety, Civil Protection or a related scientific field, desired
- Professional Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety at Work (desired) – CAP Level 4 or above
- Professional Certificate in Environmental Legislation (desired).
- 3–5 years of experience in HSE roles, ideally within industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
- Solid understanding of HSE principles, regulatory requirements and risk management as well as Emergency Management
- Trainer Certificate
- Experience in audits, inspections and incident investigations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage vendors, auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant digital tools.
