We-'re Hiring: City Events Producer (Part-Time / Freelance)
Location: Barcelona | Madrid | Lisbon | €1, 000/month per city | Flexible, Side Hustle Role
Are you an event manager, nightlife insider, or hospitality pro with a killer events network in your city? Do you know the best restaurants, hidden gems, and cultural hotspots—and love curating unforgettable experiences?
One Thousand Club is seeking City Events Producers to lead our local events calendar. This role is
- time (~10h/week), remote, flexible, and paid as an independent contractor — ideal for someone already producing events or activating hospitality venues who wants to earn extra income doing what they love.
Starting Sept 1,
- 're scaling our event offerings across Lisbon, Madrid, and Barcelona—and we need local producers to bring the magic to life.
Role Overview
This is a freelance, role with no obligation to attend events or engage with the community in person (although we hope you feel inspired by our people, and offer free membership and free tickets to events). Your focus should be on event design,
- production, and planning—on your own schedule, behind the scenes.
Responsibilities
- Design Monthly Events (up to 8 per month, depending on the season):
- Source and negotiate venues (bars, rooftops, cultural spaces). Use your network to bring partnerships.
- Secure back deals per One Thousand Club terms (based on group size).
- Create a simple show + event concept using templates (the community support manager will handle
- of administration and host coordination). - Submit list of vendor invoices for payment in internal systems.
- Publish & Launch:
- Build ticketing pages via a provided template.
- Draft a 1-page event brief for each event so the team knows how to take it and run it the day of (advanced planning only).
- Plan Quarterly Signature Parties:
- Collaborate on our 4 seasonal flagship events per year (e. g. , Summer Party, Members Awards Gala, Christmas Ball, Fall "Back to Cool" Experiential Dinner). We may hire a dedicated event planner for each party, but
- 'll help with concept and coordinating the team.

Monthly Event Mix
Each city manager should produce the following each month:
- 2 Roundtable Dinners (10–12 people, private room & menu aligned with our brand).
- 1 Afterwork Drink/Salon at local bar/rooftop (25–50 people, privatization not needed). Pipleine of options already exists
- 1 Learning/Class or Cowork Experience (co-working venue partnerships exist; just select a date, 10 people).
- 1 Brunch or Weekend Experience (10–20 people).
- 1 Re-Occurring Wellness/Sport Event (e. g. , running club, yoga, padel) – partnerships exist; just pick a date.
- 1 Cultural Experience / Larger Gathering (25–75 people, typically a partner with existing art/music/cultural experiences).
All event types follow existing templates and venue rosters (no need to reinvent the wheel). Events should be finalized 6+ weeks ahead of the planned date. Budgets are set per person and range from €20–€100. At least 1 event per month will include a check and be a free space.
Cash Back Terms
This role requires strong negotiation and enjoyment of making deals within the hospitality industry. Events in commercial spaces must include our standard back deal.
- 10% cash back from venue: fewer than 20 people
- 15% cash back from venue: 20–50 people
- 20% cash back from venue: 50+ people
Ideal Background
- Proven experience producing events (hospitality, nightlife, cultural, or experiential)
- Strong local network of venues, chefs, artists, DJs, and spaces
- Great negotiation skills (for back deals and partnerships)
- Ability to work independently, on your own hours
- Organized, reliable, and focused
- No community management required — just great events
Hiring Process
We-'re recruiting directly from the scene: if

- 're confident delivering monthly.

- based role, with pay dependent on complete and timely delivery of a calendar of events.
Compensation
Monthly Base Pay
- Dependent on delivering 8 events and 8 event briefs (delivery at ~2 per week).
- Events must be delivered 6 weeks in advance of the date. Delays may lead to rejection or termination for repeated delays.
- Base pay prorated if fewer than 8 events are delivered (e. g. , 6 delivered -> €750).
- Notes: If events are not aligned with the 8 event types, they will not be accepted and pay prorated.
- Role terminated if 2+ events run at a loss per quarter or total quarterly loss exceeds €1, 000.
Quarterly Bonus Pay
After a 3-month trial, a profit share scheme may apply. Target is a 40/60 profit split once each unit reaches €25k in quarterly event revenue.
- City Event Revenue < €12. 5k/quarter → Role terminated
- City Event Revenue €25k–€50k/quarter → 40% profit share
