Your Impact
As an Operations Specialist, you will be part of the Optimize Events team. The Optimize Events team’s purpose is to deliver a range of solutions for Mc
Kinsey’s
- person meetings and events that enable purposeful, responsible, and collaborative experiences to achieve the objectives of both Mc
Kinsey and event attendees.
You will create meaningful attendee experiences by delivering strategic meeting expertise and unparalleled value. You will harness technology and leverage our team of experts to actualize event visions, enabling connectivity and the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
In this role, you will work closely with a Senior Portfolio Manager and be responsible for the
-
- day support of the Optimize Events team operations service line. You will serve as the “go-to” resource for operational knowledge for Optimize Events colleagues globally, manage time sensitive requests for stakeholders across the firm, and engage in daily troubleshooting and problem solving.
You will play a critical role in supporting the operations of a global team, with responsibilities including, but not limited to; process standardization and efficiency, compliance, reporting, and administrative management of the Optimize Events external worker program.
You will support and help with the administration of operational policies and processes for Optimize Events on a global scale, ensuring compliance with key global and local regulations including those related to
- corruption, ESG, immigration, purchasing, payments, and contracting.
You will collaborate with Optimize teams and other support functions across the firm to help develop

- end processes within the Events space, ensuring alignment with firm requirements and standards.
Your qualifications and skills
- University degree; 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally focused on operational topics; event management experience in a professional services environment preferred
- Extreme attention to detail and
- quality standards - Outstanding organizational and project management capabilities, including the ability to initiate tasks independently and see them through to completion, prioritize and deliver on multiple parallel tasks, and exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
- Ability to create work
- focused materials/outputs, which may include Power
Point decks, Excel documents, training guides, or other written deliverables; skilled in using Share
Point/Box - Demonstrated independent, collaborative and creative
- solving skills, including the ability to structure thoughts and connect details across workstreams and with the larger context, leverage/adapt and apply experience and expertise to new situations, and proactively identify and recommend solutions to potential challenges and pitfalls - Ability to take initiative and ownership balanced with the ability to take direction and a willingness to learn
