Senior Consultant - Actuarial & Risk | Lisboa
EY is looking for an Insurance Risk Consultant who combines analytical mindset with a dynamic attitude to join our Actuarial and Risk Services team. The role involves working on risk and actuarial strategic projects, supporting financial institutions in their risk and actuarial decisions, providing timely and effective responses to client needs, and participating in client meetings while working within a team environment to deliver fully integrated benefit services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of key projects for our clients (life,
- life and pension funds insurance companies) on a wide range of topics. - Adapt methods and practices to fit operational teams.
- Contribute to improve operational efficiency on projects and internal initiatives, consistently driving projects to completion while ensuring the quality of the work delivered.
- Manage your time and be responsible for delivering to both clients and internal stakeholders, keeping a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Work closely with colleagues, creating a positive learning culture and coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's and master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or similar academic background.
- At least 4 years of previous work experience in the insurance or consulting environment.
- Relevant knowledge about IFRS17.
- Excellent analytical, research and communication skills.
- Ability to build team and client relationships and manage expectations.
- Full English Proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of risk and actuarial concepts.
- Experience in reserving or Solvency II is preferable.
- Knowledge in programming languages (e. g. VBA, R and SQL) will be valued.
