Experienced Dietitian - Cancer Therapies Service
Hywel Dda UHB has an exciting opportunity to expand prehabilitation through to rehabilitation services support patients in preparation for cancer treatment, during their cancer treatments, and for rehabilitation following their treatments. We are seeking an exceptional, inspirational, dynamic and experienced dietitian to support the MDT to deliver an innovative virtual cancer therapies service.
Hywel Dda UHB's "Prehab through to Rehab" programme supports people throughout their cancer treatments by enhancing patients clinical, functional and wellbeing outcomes, as well as improving patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Working as a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will provide support in the development and ongoing quality assurance of the service, undertaking evaluation, audit and contributing to research.
Applications are invited from individuals with demonstrable experience in working with people with cancer. They should be interested in working as part of a MDT therapy service, which actively supports professional development and is committed to excellent patient care and service improvement.

The post holder will be expected to travel across the Health Board footprint at times. Mileage allowance is payable and a lease car scheme is available.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.
We have over 13, 000 staff and together we provide primary, community,
- hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.

- Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
- 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
- HCPC Registration with a degree in Dietetics
- Specialist clinical knowledge of adult cancer nutritional care and dietetics nutrition; acquired through specialist training to post graduate diploma level or equivalent clinical experience
- Completed Clinical Supervisory Skills training or equivalent
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply
- base to inform dietetic care - Working knowledge of professional and clinical guidance and policy relevant to the specialist area
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodology in practice
- Completed motivational interviewing training
Experience
- Significant experience in community dietetics within the NHS or similar health care establishment.
- Consolidated and broad experience of managing a complex and varied clinical caseload using established clinical reasoning
- Planning and delivery of clinical
- based dietetic and nutrition education and training. - Participation in project / quality improvement / development / clinical audit work, with demonstrable outcomes.
- Student training
- Interpreting evidence into clinical practice
- Experience of delivering clinical supervision.
- Delegation to unregistered staff
- Member of a professional network or specialist group
Language Skills
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
