We are looking for a skilled and passionate Federated Data Platform Dev
Ops Engineer to join our Centre of Excellence to build and scale effective software solutions for our Enterprise Data Platform.
As a Data Software Engineer in this domain, you will have the opportunity to build
- value, differentiating, and impactful solutions and applications that interface with our customers and support the development, production and user experience of our products. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic
- starter with deep expertise in complex
- end structures and the ability to work with different integrated systems.
Responsibilities
- As a Data Platform Engineer, develop and support complex engineering solutions.
- Work with multiple technologies to develop an Enterprise Data solution; strong knowledge of cloud computing,
- end technologies, and integration is required. - Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure.
- Provide full support to software development teams to deploy, run, and roll out new services and capabilities in Cloud infrastructure.
- Build proactive monitoring and alerting infrastructure to support operations and system health.
- Deploy and integrate new Cloud service capabilities using CI/CD pipelines to maximize uptime of
- hosted environments (production, staging, testing, authoring and development). - Work within Agile processes adapted to team and project needs.
- Collaborate with a
- disciplinary PMI Data Platform Team on design decisions, technical debt, and architecture. - Ensure excellent code quality from both functional and
- functional perspectives and enforce best practices within the team. - Ensure PMI Security standards are embedded into practices and code.
- Operate in a true Dev
Ops model where we support the code we build and deploy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with relevant data domain experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a data engineer and experience in developing
- enabled products. - Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a data engineer/architect on Snowflake (data warehouse design, performance tuning).
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and best practices.
- Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python, among others).
- Experience in software design patterns and architectures.
- Experience with cloud solutions and services, particularly serverless architectures.
- Experience in API design and implementation.
- Experience in building scalable and observable solutions.
- Proven experience with source code versioning tools (e. g. , Bitbucket or Git).
- Strong knowledge and advocacy of clean code principles.
- Knowledge of relational and
- relational databases. - Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills including creative thinking, attention to detail, collaboration, teamwork and a drive to learn and succeed.
- Passionate about software development.
Additional Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services.
- Knowledge of Matillion and DBT for data transformation.
- Proficiency in Power
BI/Fabric (data modelling, report development). - Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of embedded systems.
- Understanding of device connectivity technologies (Wi
Fi, Lo
Ra
WAN, Bluetooth, RFID). - Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira for product backlog and Confluence for documentation).
