NOTICE OF FOR 1 (ONE) RESEARCH GRANT (BI), WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE “F2FORALL” PROJECT, FINANCED THROUGH THE NORTHERN REGIONAL OPERATIONAL PROGRAM (NORTE 2030), UNDER PORTUGAL 2030, OF THE R&D UNIT Porto Centre for Economics and Finance (CEF. UP), AT THE Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto (FEP).

The Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto opens a call for 1 Research Grant (BI) for a doctoral student to carry out R&D activities under the project “F2For
ALL” - Development of a sustainable strategy “from Farm to Fork” in the Mediterranean, integrating Optimal Control, Deep Learning and Advanced Econometrics, funded through NORTE2030, Portugal 2030, at the Porto Centre for Economics and Finance.

1. Research area: Social Sciences: Economics and Management.

2. Admission requirements:

Applicants must provide documentation proving:

• Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related fields;
• Enrollment in a doctoral program in the relevant areas at the time of contracting.

3. Preferred requirements: Published work or defended master's thesis in relevant research areas.

4. Work Plan:

The research grant holder will engage in activities aligned with the project’s objectives, including computational implementation of econometric models and empirical applications related to sustainable agriculture, Mediterranean diet, marketing strategies, and environmental impacts.

5. Applicable Legislation: Governed by University of Porto's Regulations, Portuguese law, and related regulations.

6. Workplace: At CEF. UP, Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, under supervision of Professors Vitor Ribeiro and Maria Soares.

7. Duration: 12 months, possibly renewable, up to four years for doctoral students, subject to project approval and funding.

8. Monthly allowance: €1, 309. 64, paid via bank transfer, covered by personal accident insurance, with optional voluntary social insurance.

9. Evaluation: Curricular assessment (90%) and optional interview (10%), based on scientific production, research plan, motivation, and interview performance.

10. Selection panel: Comprises Professors Vitor Ribeiro, Maria Soares, Dr. Óscar Afonso, with alternate members Dr. Paulo Vasconcelos and Dr. Anabela Carneiro.

11. Application submission: By 27 May 2025, including proof of qualifications, enrollment, references, and eligibility statement, preferably in
- editable format, via compressed files up to 720MB each.

13. Results notification: Via email, with a 10-day period for comments.

14. Booking list: Based on final ranking, valid for 12 months.
