What impact you’ll make
As a Field Service Engineer – Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) within the Field Services team of GE Vernova Grid Solutions, you will play a key role in supporting our customers across Europe by ensuring the reliable installation, commissioning, maintenance, and service of advanced Monitoring & Diagnostics systems for power transformers and substation equipment.
What you’ll do
- Install, commission, and maintain GE Vernova Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) systems for power transformers and substation assets.
- Perform
- site work mainly in substations and power generation plants, occasionally in offshore wind platforms. - Lead technical interventions, ensuring repair and modification work complies with GE Vernova quality and safety standards.
- Prepare accurate, timely, and professional service reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues independently within defined procedures, escalating when needed.
- Collaborate effectively with the Services Leader, Product Management, Sales, OEMs, and customers to deliver superior service.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to customer teams or channel partners
- site. - Manage your own schedule and travel plans autonomously, ensuring efficient coordination with customers and internal teams.
- Travel frequently (≈70–80%) across Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Israel, etc. ); home‑office based when not travelling.
What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of electricity, power systems, and high‑voltage equipment.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) plus one additional European language – Spanish, Portuguese, or Italian (mandatory).
- Full availability to travel across Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel, Cyprus, Croatia, etc. ) and valid EU work permit.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and customer‑focused, with strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience working in a substation environment.
- Experience with Kelman DGA equipment (installation, repair, and general service of the M&D Kelman product line).
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Offshore training/experience is an advantage (GWO certificates preferred).
- Experience with installation and maintenance programs for Power Transformer monitoring equipment.
