Finance & Accounting Team Leader (BPO) in Porto
Workster is partnering with a rapidly expanding Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider to recruit a Finance & Accounting Team Leader in Porto. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the finance operations for a leading international client, supporting their growth journey while developing your own leadership skills in a vibrant and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities in Finance & Accounting Team Management
- Lead, coach, and inspire a multicultural finance & accounting team to achieve operational excellence, ensuring
- quality delivery across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and
- end closing processes. - Oversee daily transactional activities, monitor KPIs, and support the team in resolving complex finance and accounting queries.
- Drive process improvements and standardisation initiatives across all financial operations to optimise efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain strong business relationships with both internal stakeholders and the client, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and compliance with
- level agreements. - Prepare, review, and deliver financial reports, analysis, and reconciliations in alignment with client and internal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary escalation point for finance and accounting issues within the team, supporting swift and effective resolution.
Required Qualifications & Competencies for the Porto Team Leader Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting within a BPO, shared service centre, or multinational environment.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership or people management.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and proven track record in implementing best practices in a finance function.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Proactive and
- driven, able to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines in a
- paced environment. - Hands‑on experience with finance ERP systems (e. g. , SAP, Oracle, or similar).
