We're seeking a Finance Specialist (Controller) to join our team in Lisbon. The ideal candidate is analytical,

About the Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial forecasts, monitoring expenses, and producing clear reports to support our operations. You will work directly with Excel and Power BI, collaborating closely with budget owners and the finance team.
This role is suited for someone early in their finance career who wants to grow by engaging with budgeting, financial control, and collaborative operations in a

Main Responsibilities:
- Expense Monitoring & Approval: Review and approve expenses, ensuring they are complete, justified, and correctly classified.
- Budget Control & Forecasting: Maintain updated forecasts based on
- time data and regular
- ins. - Reporting: Produce monthly reports per cost center and entity, compare actuals vs. forecast, and generate
- hoc reports as needed. - Collaboration with Cost Center Owners: Conduct periodic meetings to review budgets and support financial understanding.
- Financial Analysis Support: Assist with analyses for board meetings, donor updates, and stakeholders.
- Subscriptions & Commitments: Manage recurring financial commitments like software subscriptions.
- Payroll Review Support: Assist with payroll processes, reviewing allocations and tracking overtime.
- HR Collaboration: Support HR with cost calculations for new hires and salary adjustments.
- Budget Cycle Participation: Contribute to annual budget planning with data preparation and organization.
Qualifications:
- Approximately 2 years of experience in finance, budgeting, or control.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
- Understanding of financial workflows and a proactive approach to improvement.
- Attention to detail and a
- on attitude. - Effective communication skills and ability to work across teams.
- Fluency in Portuguese and working proficiency in English.
