Position Summary
This role involves ensuring the quality of accounting data, managing specific accounting calculations, conducting closing reviews, regulatory reporting, and administering accounting systems for the responsible entities or business units. The Middle Office Accounting Expert may also participate as a key user in accounting transformation projects, including IT system rollouts, process harmonization, and onboarding new business.
What you do
Accounting Calculations
- Perform calculations related to Bad Debts, Provisions and Accruals, Fixed Assets.
Closing Review
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness of postings.
- Evaluate the performance of departments like AP/AR and provide feedback for improvement.
- Perform sanity checks on suspense accounts, revenue, claims, commissions, payroll, investments, FX, and tax.
- Ensure compliance with booking standards and policies during closing.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and monitor closing progress.
- Supervise ECCS uploads and conduct
- mortem reviews to improve processes.
Regulatory Reporting
- Handle statutory, regulatory, and specific reporting requirements.
Accounting Systems Administration
- Manage access rights, set up accounts and users.
- Configure and manage GRP, interfaces, and tables.
- Handle incident management related to accounting systems.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate with teams involved in closing, reporting, and transformation projects.
- Act as a key user in accounting transformation initiatives.
- Perform
- hoc accounting tasks as needed.
