We are looking for - Finance Trainee - USA (m/f/d)

Job Summary

We seek a highly organized,
- oriented Finance Assistant Trainee to join our team. You will support our accounting and finance staff across the 4 companies of Pestana Hotel Group in the USA (2 hotels in NYC, 1 in Miami, and 1 Shared Services Company).

The ideal candidate will have previous
- on finance experience or formal finance education, strong Microsoft Excel skills, and a passion for hospitality. Excellent analytical,
- solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Classify and ensure the accuracy and completeness of invoices promptly;
• Post all invoices for purchased services and products in the correct month;
• Work with vendors/suppliers and internal departments to resolve payment issues (in coordination with the Treasury and Accounts Payable departments in Lisbon, Portugal);
• Reconcile and analyze vendor balances;
• Provide necessary information to the Accounts Payable department for creating and updating supplier master data;
• Review Accounts Payables’ aging and ensure timely payments to vendors;
• Place purchase orders as requested by hotel operations;
• Obtain quotes for new purchases;
• Analyze purchasing documents monthly;
• Post petty cash expenses.

Requirements

• Experience in accounting or finance (mandatory);
• Proficiency in English (mandatory);
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (mandatory);
• Experience with SAP (preferred);
• Understanding of basic accounting principles;
• Self-motivated and
  - oriented;
• Ability to work in a multifunctional environment;
• Availability to travel to the USA;
• Availability to work according to US time zones (not mandatory);
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
