The Job: Financial Controller & Certified Accountant

OFFER We are looking for a Financial Controller who is also a Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado - OCC) to join our team. You will be the backbone of our financial health, ensuring not only strict compliance with Portuguese tax obligations but also managing the financial execution of crucial European and National funded projects (PT2030).

You will work closely with the management team to ensure our financial operations are scalable, transparent, and compliant. Unlike traditional accounting roles, here you will use digital tools to streamline processes—we hate paper and inefficiency.

EXPECTATIONS Your job is as follows:

• Master of Funded Projects: You will take full ownership of the financial management of funded projects, specifically PT2030 and European Projects . You understand the specific eligibility rules, reporting requirements, and timelines of these funds.
• Financial Guardian: You will handle Management Control (Controlling) and General Accounting. You will perform accounting entries, manage cash flow, and ensure the financial data reflects the reality of the business to support strategic decisions.
• Compliance & Tax Wizardry: You are responsible for the preparation and submission of accounting declarations and maintaining the company’s Tax Dossier pristine.
• Organize the World (Internal): You will maintain the Human Resources and Financial dossiers with extreme attention to detail.
• Digital Efficiency: You will not just -"use-" Excel; you will master Google Spreadsheets and digital accounting tools to automate and organize data.

THE ABSOLUTE UNICORN CANDIDATE This is a position for someone who has the rigour of a traditional accountant but the mindset of a tech startup employee. You must be highly organized, capable of working autonomously in a remote setting, and fluent in both the language of business (English) and the language of Portuguese bureaucracy.

We are looking for someone with:

• Mandatory: Certified Accountant registered with the OCC (Contabilista Certificado inscrito na OCC) in Portugal.
• Experience: Proven experience in Accounting, Tax, and specifically in the financial management of PT2030 or similar European funded projects.
• Language: Full proficiency in English (company language) and Portuguese (required for dealings with Tax Authority/suppliers).
• Remote DNA: Experience with remote work. You know how to manage your time, communicate asynchronously, and stay productive without someone looking over your shoulder.
• Tech Savvy: High affinity with digital tools. Mastery of Google Spreadsheets or Excel is
  - negotiable. You should be comfortable learning new software quickly.
• Extreme Attention to Detail: You are the person who spots the 0. 01€ difference in a report. Organization is your second nature.
