Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and
- oriented Financial Specialist to join our team
- time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping, analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support
- making. The role involves managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and offering cost optimization recommendations. The Financial Specialist will collaborate closely with multiple companies within the Penguin Group. Strong drive, proactivity, communication, and organizational skills are essential. This position suits someone who thrives in a collaborative environment while managing daily financial tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
2. Transaction Recording:
Accurately record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
3. Maintaining General Ledger:
Update and maintain the company’s general ledger, ensuring all accounts are correctly balanced.
4. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Manage and process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
5. Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements with company records, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
6. Payroll Processing:
Assist with employee payroll, including deductions, benefits, and taxes.
7. Expense Tracking:
Monitor and categorize company expenses for financial reporting.
8. Cost Management:
Identify cost reduction areas, streamline operations, and advise on
- effective strategies.
9. Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports such as trial balances, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
10. Budget Monitoring:
Track budgets across Penguin Group companies, identifying discrepancies or issues.
11. Compliance & Taxation:
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and assist with tax filings and audits.
12. Communication with Management:
Provide regular financial updates and highlight areas of concern or opportunity.
13. Billing and Vendor Management:
Oversee billing, payments, and invoices for server platforms like AWS and Saa
S services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
14. Cost Control and Optimization:
Monitor
- related expenses, identify savings opportunities, and recommend
- effective strategies.
15. Financial Planning and Forecasting:
Develop forecasts, projections, and scenario analyses for strategic planning.
16. International Financial Management:
Manage intercompany accounts and assist with financial statement consolidation across multiple entities, including international ones, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Administrative and Record Management
1. Administrative Support:
Assist with documentation tasks, maintaining confidentiality and policy compliance.
2. Record Management:
Maintain organized digital and physical records for easy access and proper archiving.
Qualifications
1. Associate's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in financial management.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (e. G. , Quick
Books, Xero).
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Good communication skills in writing and speaking.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
7. Interpersonal skills, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
8. Familiarity with Portuguese financial regulations is a plus.
9. Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
