Job Description:

Reporting to the Assistant Head for Finance, the Finance Specialist keeps the Business Office running smoothly by carrying out various financial tasks. Duties will vary and may include a variety of business functions included below, and other duties as assigned.

Financial Responsibilities (Supporting the Accounts department):

• Generating invoices and account statements.
• Performing account reconciliations - tracking and reconciling bank statements.
• Maintaining accounts receivable files and records.
• Assisting in general financial management and analysis.
• Updating financial system with daily transactions.
• Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed.
• Provide administrative support during budget preparation and annual audits.

Qualifications:

• Degree in a related field, preferably management.
• Work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role +10.
• Good knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions).
• Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
• Strong phone, email, and
  - person communication skills in both English and Portuguese.
• Being able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service philosophy and approach.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
• Excellent administrative skills with great attention to detail.
• Being able to work independently, and as part of team.
• Strong communication, organizational and
  - management skills.
