Position

We are seeking a FPGA Design Engineer for our Porto team. The successful candidate will join our R&D department as part of an international team developing HBK’s new product portfolio, which serves sectors such as Automotive, Electric Drives & Generators, Aerospace, Energy/High-Voltage, Material Testing, and Service.

You will work closely with analog, digital, firmware, software, mechanical, and test design engineers both locally and remotely. Your role includes supporting the entire design lifecycle, from concept to implementation, release, and maintenance of active products.

Primary responsibilities

You will be the
- to engineer for FPGA development, bringing extensive FPGA design knowledge and helping shape technical project directions. Your main task will be to develop innovative FPGA designs for measurement devices, collaborating with teams in Germany, Denmark, The Netherlands, Portugal, and the USA.

Your daily work includes:

• Designing FPGA architectures and realizations
• Digital Signal Processing (digital filters, linearization, scaling)
• Implementing verification and validation strategies
• Participating in agile teams (usually Scrum)
• Documenting designs and interfaces

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of FPGA development experience, deep understanding of digital electronics, and experience with digital signal processing and development tools like Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi, Modelsim, and Tcl scripting. Experience with Altium Designer is a plus.
