Introduction to the Position
Our client, a leading company in the data engineering field, is looking to hire a Freelance Data Engineer based in Lisbon. This is a freelance/contract position offering an exciting opportunity to work in a
- paced, international environment. The focus will be on integrating data from billing, payroll, and customer systems, where you'll play a key role in building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data infrastructure. If you have experience with modern data technologies and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative setting, this position could be a great fit for you. Your Responsibilities
Integrate data from various systems, including billing, payroll, and customer management
Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and processing
Develop and optimize data infrastructure using Databricks, including Spark, Delta tables, and Unity Catalog
Work with APIs to extract and transform data from different sources
Collaborate with
- functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions
Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and integration
Support the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and methodologies
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in integrating billing, payroll, and customer systems
Strong knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Delta tables, and Unity Catalog
Hands-on experience with APIs and integrating data from different sources
Proficiency in designing and maintaining ETL pipelines
Ability to work in a
- paced, international environment
Strong
- solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Prior experience in a hybrid work model is an advantage
