About the role

My client is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer as the first member of their Lisbon engineering team. This is a
- on role focused on building core product features, scaling backend systems, and owning infrastructure. Over time, this role will evolve into a team leadership position as we grow the Lisbon hub.

What you will do

• Design and build new product features across frontend and backend

• Develop and scale backend services with a focus on performance and data

• Own Dev
Ops, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines in AWS

• Maintain high standards around security, observability, and system reliability

• Collaborate closely with product and design to deliver features end to end

• Contribute to technical architecture and engineering strategy

• Help establish engineering best practices and documentation

• Mentor future hires and support the growth of a local engineering team

What we are looking for

• 6 or more years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong
- stack background with React and Node. js

• Experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments

• Experience scaling systems or working with data intensive applications

• Knowledge of security best practices and cloud infrastructure

• Ownership mindset with experience shipping production work

• Clear communication and collaborative approach

• Interest in progressing towards engineering leadership and management

Nice to have

• Prior
- up experience or working in small
- functional teams

• Experience with distributed systems, event driven architectures, or data pipelines

• Experience mentoring or leading engineers

• Exposure to modern product development workflows

Career progression

This role is designed to progress into Engineering Lead or Head of Engineering as the Lisbon team scales. You will play a key role in hiring, mentorship, and shaping the culture of the local team.
