Full-Stack Developer - Ruby on Rails

Location: Hybrid - Coimbra

About Ovyo:

Ovyo is a professional services company specializing in the satellite, telecommunications, media, broadcasting, transportation, and many more sectors. Our management team is located in the UK and Portugal, and we have technical teams based across other European countries and India.

We are currently looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in Coimbra. Here you will work on developing and maintaining our core product using modern web technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Database & Caching: Optimize database schemas and queries with Postgre
   SQL and manage caching layers using Redis for performance and efficiency.
2. Testing & Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code with robust automated tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure alignment with product requirements.
3. Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with product and design teams to deliver
   - quality,
   - focused features from concept to deployment.
4. Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

1. Skilled in designing scalable system architectures, optimizing web performance, and building
   - based UI with View
   Components and Hotwire (Turbo & Stimulus).
2. Experienced in developing and integrating RESTful APIs, using caching technologies like Redis, and optimizing database queries for performance.
3. Proficient in automated testing practices (e. g. , RSpec) and version control systems like Git to ensure code quality and stability.
4. Comfortable working in agile environments, adapting quickly to changing priorities, and taking initiative in a collaborative and
   - paced setting.
