Town of Faro – General Manager, Finance. The Town of Faro is a safe and vibrant community in central Yukon, near the Pelly River, offering affordable housing and extensive recreation opportunities.

• Report to the CAO and manage all aspects of municipal financial operations and staff in the Finance Department.
• Provide strong organizational, communication, and supervisory leadership.
• Apply robust finance, strategic thinking, and critical thinking within legislative and policy frameworks.
• Oversee finance, purchasing, accounting, auditing, investments, territorial grant processes, property taxation, budget formulation and management, and local government responsibilities.
• Communicate with the public and work with councils and committees;
  
  
  
  ensure Safe Work practices in a union environment where applicable.

• University degree or college diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA or CA is desirable but not required.
• 5+ years of finance and accounting experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory and management experience.
• Strong critical thinking, ability to make sound recommendations, and effective change management within regulatory frameworks.
• Thorough knowledge of finance, purchasing, accounting, auditing principles, applicable legislation, investments, territorial grant processes, property taxation, budget formulation and management, and local government functions.
• Experience communicating with the public and working with councils and committees.
• Knowledge of Safe Work legislation and ability to implement safe work practices, with the ability to work in a union environment.

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience (Current range $76, 953 - $94, 711).
