Job Description:
In our team, we are looking for a Geospatial Information and Remote Sensing Specialist, a technically adept professional with over 5 years of experience in geospatial information systems and remote sensing, specializing in advanced data and image processing. Proven expertise in geospatial software, solution development, and multidisciplinary technical projects, with a strong focus on delivering innovative solutions, operational excellence, and technological leadership. This role is intended to integrate the RSGA team in Lisbon, contributing to projects across various domains, including security, emergency, maritime, environment, energy, climate, and health, from scientific to operational activities.
- Technological Leadership: Drive the adoption and integration of innovative technologies within geospatial projects, ensuring
- edge solutions that meet operational and scientific demands. - Team Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams of geospatial professionals, fostering collaboration, technical growth, and alignment with project objectives.
- Solution Finding: Develop and implement creative, efficient solutions to complex geospatial challenges, leveraging advanced technologies and methodologies.
- Scientific and Technical Steering: Provide strategic guidance and technical oversight to ensure scientific rigor and technical excellence across all project deliverables.
- Workflow Design and Optimization: Design and streamline workflows for geospatial data processing, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Technical Documentation and Communication.
What do we need in our team?
We are looking for experts in Geospatial Information and Remote Sensing with background and interest in:
- Geospatial Software Proficiency: Advanced expertise in commercial geospatial tools (e. g. , ESRI Arc
GIS Pro, Catalyst) and
- source platforms (e. g. , QGIS, SNAP) for analysis, remote sensing, and data processing workflows. - Data and Image Processing: Extensive experience in satellite image analysis, radiometric and geometric corrections, change detection, and advanced classification methods. Strong background in integrating geospatial datasets with auxiliary data sources.
- Solution Development: Hands-on experience in developing custom geospatial solutions and automation workflows using Python or other programming languages. Knowledge in applying AI and machine learning techniques for predictive modeling and advanced analytics (e. g. ,
- based image analysis, feature extraction). - Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
