Geospatial Support Engineer, EMEA
Responsibilities
- Provide global,
- oriented 1st and 2nd level customer and partner support for our Geospatial products with a focus on: Geo
Media Desktop, ERDAS IMAGINE, ERDAS Apollo and Spatial Modeler - Collaborate closely with local support teams (1st level) from other countries/regions as well as the product development teams to provide timely solutions and workarounds for reported issues.
- Track support cases in our support system and actively manage your personal backlog of support requests.
- Conduct research into complex
- related issues and products to develop creative solutions that meet customer expectations. - Actively contribute to the support community by answering posts, creating knowledgebase articles, and posting blog entries.
- Provide ongoing proactive maintenance by informing partners about known issues and offering solutions proactively, before partners encounter these issues.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and supportive relationships with partners and internal stakeholders.
- Identify
- selling opportunities and training needs, and inform the responsible (Pre-) Sales Manager
Education / Qualifications
This position requires candidates with a broad educational background, technical skills, and experience in Geospatial Server environments, and IT in general.
Education
- University degree with strong emphasis in Information Technology (e. g. Geoinformatics, Computer Science, IT or similar).
- Alternatively, a proven track record of at least 5 years of professional experience working with Geospatial Server solutions, as well as in designing and maintaining of complex client/server architectures.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in Geospatial environments
- Preference to candidates with experience working in virtual teams and
- cultural environments.
Skills
Technical Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of Geospatial software solutions (GIS) and the principles of geospatial raster and vector data formats is required.
- Experience with remote sensing technologies and raster data processing is required.
- Excellent knowledge of the Hexagon SIG’s Power Portfolio (Geo
Media Desktop, ERDAS Imagine, Spatial Modeler, etc. ) is desirable. - Good knowledge of the Hexagon SIG’s Geospatial Server product family (ERDAS Apollo, M. App Enterprise, Geo
Media Web
Map) is an asset. - Proficiency in database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Postgre
SQL. - Good knowledge of OGC standards like (WMS, WFS, WCS, OGC API, etc. ) is required.
- Strong understanding of client and server operating systems like Microsoft Windows 11 and Microsoft Windows Server is required while knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux would be an asset.
- Experience with application/web servers like IIS, Apache HTTP, and Apache Tomcat is desirable.
- Good knowledge of OGC standards like (WMS, WFS, WCS, etc. ) as well as XML technology (XSD/XSLT/XPath) is required.
- Skills in programming languages such as Javascript/JSON, Python, C#, and. Net are desirable.
Language Skills
- Fluent spoken and written English is a must while any additional EMEA language like Spanish, French, German or Arabic would be a plus.

- oriented approach to provide timely and effective support. - Creativity in developing workarounds and solutions to meet customer needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams with the ability to explain technical concepts to
- technical users. - Patience and empathy when dealing with customer and partner issues.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment with little to no supervision.
- Ability to work closely with virtual local and global support teams, as well as product development teams.
- Staying updated with the latest developments in geospatial technologies and software.
- Exceptional understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Willingness to travel within EMEA on an occasional basis.
