What You'll Do
The Global Risk Function’s mission is to proactively detect, manage, and mitigate risks while supporting BCG’s evolving business needs. Global Risk includes seven teams: Compliance, Assurance & Advisory, Enterprise Risk Management, Strategy & Operations, Data Protection, Global Security, and Information Security. Together, we enable the business, manage risk through effective controls, and promote a unified One
Risk approach. We aim to embed a
- aware mindset across offices, functions, MDPs, and employees as the firm’s collective first line of defense.
The Risk Strategy & Operations (S&O) Team partners across the function to execute on Risk’s vision, focusing on strategy, key initiatives, communications, digital tools, and operational excellence. We’re hiring a Manager to lead
- functional efforts that advance our risk strategy, drive innovation, and support scalable,
- ready operations. This role offers the chance to shape how risk is managed across BCG and make a lasting impact.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
In this position you will be working as a part of the Global Risk S&O Team. You will learn about risks, and the operations behind those risks that BCG as a global organization faces. You will get exposure to a wide range of risk business functions and learn how to best organize and utilize various functions and resources to achieve the team objectives. You will serve as a thought partner to leadership—translating vision into action, influencing outcomes, and shaping the change agenda across the global Risk organization. You will get
- on experience relating to major initiatives as well as smaller ongoing analyses and projects we conduct to manage risk at BCG while working with a team of international colleagues and internal customers. Additionally, you drive our key functional operations, strive for process improvement and operational excellence.
On a
-
- day basis, you will:
- Lead strategic risk initiatives from ideation to execution and delivery
- Drive, plan, align and execute across our Global Risk strategic roadmap
- Act as a PMO for
- priority
- functional projects—designing project plans, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring results are delivered efficiently - Create
- ready materials and strategic storytelling for the CRO and Risk LT - Drive operational improvements and scalable practices across S&O and global risk workflows
- Shape and coordinate team priorities and functional processes (e. g. , KPI reporting, strategic planning, engagement models, for Global Risk)
- Foster a strong team culture through affiliation, engagement initiatives, and learning forums
- Team closely with our Risk Team to execute on core activities (including meeting shaping, learning events, affiliation events, etc. )
- Support and execute on initiatives with our various business partners (HR, Finance, Learning and development) to foster a collaborative One
Risk culture and effective risk organization - Ad-hoc projects and tasks relevant for the Risk S&O team
YOU’RE GOOD AT
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess some key attributes including (but not limited to):
- Managing complex,
- functional projects with strong PMO discipline - Translating vision into action with a bias toward execution and outcomes
- Framing and communicating strategic ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Operating with a generalist mindset—comfortable shifting between strategy, projects and operations
- Navigating ambiguity and adapting in a dynamic environment, working effectively amongst competing priorities
- Cultivating
- based relationships with senior stakeholders,
- functional partners, and team members - Bringing a systems thinking lens to process design and improvement
- Superior verbal and written communication skills (e. g. , assisting the team to draft various communications, presentations)
- Open-minded individual who is willing to offer their suggestions, opinions, or perspectives (e. g. , provide the team with thoughts and perspective on how we could improve our process/procedures).
- Comfort with abstract concepts and ability to understand various
- financial risks and their impacts - Strong research skills to find and synthesize complex industry frameworks and best practices, competitor actions, whitepapers, etc.
What You'll Bring
- 5–8 years of experience in strategy, consulting, project management, risk management, or operations
- Strong understanding or interest in Risk and how it intersects with strategic enablement
- Proven experience managing
- functional programs and driving strategic initiatives - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at creating
- quality presentations - Comfortable with data analysis, KPI development, and strategic reporting
- Strong proficiency with Power
Point, Excel, and collaboration tools (e. g. , Trello, Miro, Slack) - Ability to thrive in a
- paced,
- ambiguity environment - Prior experience at a professional services firm or in a matrixed global organization is a plus
Who You'll Work With
This role will support the Risk Strategy and Operations Team and will require frequent interaction with all members of the broader Risk Function, including those located in different geographies and time zones. We are excited to share many aspects of Risk Management and Strategy, from the Risk Management process to the larger complex strategy and operations of the function and firm.
