Mission: The primary mission of the Group (MICE) Sales Executive is to proactively identify, qualify, and convert group business opportunities that align with Pine Cliffs Resort’s commercial strategy. This role focuses on building strong,
- driven relationships with planners, agencies, DMCs, and corporate clients to maximize group room nights, catering revenue, and total resort contribution.


Job Description:

  • Proactively solicits and qualifies group opportunities through, research, networking, and inbound enquiries.
  • Prepares accurate and compelling proposals, contracts, and presentations aligned with Marriott and Pine Cliffs standards.
  • Conducts detailed site inspections showcasing the resort’s facilities, services, and MICE capabilities.
  • Follows up promptly on leads to ensure strong conversion and maintain competitive response times.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all activities, leads, and communications in Marriott sales systems (e. g. Opera, Power of M when launched).
  • Supports contracting and negotiations under the supervision of the MICE leader.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with planners, agencies, corporate accounts, DMCs, and key partners to drive repeat and new group business.
  • Engages in regular communication with clients via email, phone,
    - person meetings, and site visits.
  • Supports FAM trips, entertainment, and client engagement initiatives as required.
  • Ensures client expectations are understood and reflected in proposals and internal communication.
  • Works closely with the Events team to ensure smooth and accurate turnover of contracted business.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Management to support demand analysis, rate strategy, and accurate forecasting.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Events to align client needs, operational capabilities, and execution standards.
  • Participates actively in weekly sales, revenue, and backlog meetings.

    - date knowledge of market trends, competitor offerings, and MICE developments affecting the Algarve region and key feeder markets.
  • Identifies new business segments, emerging markets, and strategic opportunities to support revenue growth.
  • Supports the implementation of Marriott global promotions and Pine Cliffs tactical offers.
  • Ensures all interactions reflect Pine Cliffs Resort and Marriott Luxury Collection standards.
  • Provides clients with clear, accurate information and anticipates needs before business is confirmed.
  • Ensures clients feel supported from first enquiry through to turnover to Operations.
