Life at Lisbon Tech Hub

In 2022, we launched our first European tech hub in Lisbon, aiming to tap into a new tech ecosystem, attract top talent, offer international opportunities to Brazilian employees, and foster cultural diversity.

About the MLE Role

We use Machine Learning (ML) to enhance experiences and solve complex problems. We now seek Machine Learning Engineers to bring models to production, develop ML-based products, and evolve our ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Combine Software Engineering and Data Science to create
  - ready ML models;
• Integrate engineering services with ML systems;
• Develop frameworks to build, deploy, and monitor ML services;
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists across the modeling pipeline:
• Features preparation
• Model training
• API development
• Service deployment
• Monitoring predictions and features
• Model retraining
• Ensure health and quality of ML services;
• Promote best practices for ML infrastructure and coding;
• Contribute to architecture and scaling of ML solutions;
• Participate in problem contextualization, solution design, and ML product development;
• Manage technical debt balancing
  - term value and
  - term capabilities;
• Bridge
  - ML and ML services and teams.

What we are looking for

• Strong Python and software engineering skills;
• Solid ML background;
• Experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production;
• Cloud infrastructure expertise;
• Experience with MLOps tools (e. g. , MLflow, Kubeflow, AWS Sage
  Maker, Google AI Platform);
• Developing RESTful APIs;
• Handling complex technical challenges;
• Humility, curiosity, eagerness to learn;
• Adaptability in
  - paced environments;
• Good communication and teamwork skills;
• Focus on business value.

Preferred Qualifications

• MSc. or Ph
  D in relevant fields;
• Experience with Deep Learning, LLMs, AI Agents, chatbots;
• Experience in ML Platform teams;
• Knowledge of Spark;
• Experience in startups or
  - tech companies;
• Java or other
  - level language experience is a plus.
