Head of Accounting & Tax

Reports to: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Accounting & Tax to lead the company’s financial reporting, accounting operations, and tax strategy.

This role is critical in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all financial processes in a dynamic,
- paced tech environment.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting and tax knowledge with hands‑on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), the ability to lead teams, and a high degree of rigor in process optimization. Experience in a Big Four firm is required to ensure strong technical foundations and exposure to best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, revenue recognition, and fixed assets.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual closings.
• Maintain and enforce robust accounting policies and internal controls.
• Lead the audit process with external auditors and manage documentation and compliance workflows.

2. Tax Management

• Corporate, indirect, and employee tax compliance across all relevant jurisdictions.
• Preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax laws.
• Manage tax planning strategies and assess risks and opportunities.
• Interact with tax authorities and external advisors on audits, clarifications, and rulings.

3. Budgeting & Planning

• Lead the preparation, coordination, and consolidation of the annual budget.
• Monitor budget execution and provide periodic variance analysis.
• Partner with FP&A and business units to support forecasting, scenario analyses, and long‑term planning.
• Ensure data integrity and alignment between actuals and budget across functions.

4. Systems & Process Optimization

• Serve as the internal expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), ensuring best‑practice usage across modules.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and integration projects within BC and related systems.
• Support data governance and ensure high‑quality financial information for reporting and analysis.

5. Team Leadership & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with FP&A, Operations, Legal, HR, and Product teams to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
• Provide financial insight and technical expertise to support decision‑making and corporate development activities.

Requirements

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (CPA, CA, ROC, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a Big Four firm (audit and/or tax).
• 8+ years of total experience in accounting and tax, preferably in tech, Saa
  S, or high‑growth environments.
• In‑depth knowledge of local accounting standards and tax frameworks.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including configuration, process mapping, and workflow optimization.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, scaling organization.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
