Job Description
We are looking for a
- oriented and analytical Data Operations Manager to join our team in Lisbon. This role will establish and lead a central team ensuring the accuracy, consistency and integrity of client, product and portfolio data to enable the availability of investment data and the delivery of client reporting and billing cycles. This is a critical function that underpins the delivery of investment management services to
- high net worth clients across multiple jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of data governance and maintenance in a financial services context, with deep knowledge of investment products and securities including liquid and illiquid instruments, public and private markets, derivatives, structured products, foreign exchange and alternative investments. You should also be familiar with asset class classification schemes and investment performance. You will have a genuine passion for data quality, reporting excellence, and operational improvement, and will play a key role in shaping and leading our Data Operations, Client Reporting & Billing function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the adequate governance and processes, through adequate policies and procedures, and to lead the Lisbon based team being established to support the International Wealth Management (IWM) business across all its jurisdictions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the data operations, client reporting and billing team with a view to standardise processes in support of all IWM jurisdictions.
- Establish data governance policies and processes to ensure the integrity and availability of client, product and portfolio data.
- Lead the design and implementation of standardised portfolio reconciliation (with custodian accounts), reporting and billing production processes, ensuring consistency and clarity across all outputs.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Manage and mentor the team, fostering a collaborative and
- performance culture. - Deliver detailed performance analysis using methodologies such as Time-Weighted Return (TWR) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
- Oversee banking reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with product classification schemas.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge across a wide range of investment products, including liquid and illiquid assets, public and private markets, and alternative investments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure reporting aligns with client and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in financial services operations with
- on experience in reconciliations, investment performance analysis and client reporting, preferably within wealth management, asset management, or private banking. - University degree required, ideally in a relevant subject.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline preferred.
- Strong understanding of investment products across asset classes, including structured products, private equity, hedge funds, and traditional securities.
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets
- Familiarity with Addepar (custodian data aggregation, analytics and reporting) and Salesforce (CRM) is ideal.
- Exposure to VBA, Python, Power BI, or other BI tools is beneficial but not a core requirement.
- Experience in databases and SQL, with knowledge of analytical SQL functions would be advantageous
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written);
additional European languages are an advantage. - Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and structured thinking.
