Head of Data Science & Machine Learning (Lisbon, Hybrid)

Lead the Data Team in Portugal, shaping intelligent systems across brands and markets. This is a
- impact leadership role focused on driving machine learning strategy and unlocking business value in scale up environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the
  - term roadmap for ML and data science, ensuring alignment with company goals, ethical AI practices, and scalable solutions.
• Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers, fostering innovation and experimentation.
• Oversee recommender systems, demand forecasting, marketing ROI models, customer lifetime value, churn/reactivation prediction, and segmentation frameworks.
• Evaluate and implement LLMs and other generative AI solutions to enhance internal and
  - facing processes.
• Lead design and analysis of A/B and multivariate tests, promoting
  - driven
  - making.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to ensure ML models address business needs.
• Manage the ML lifecycle (development, deployment, monitoring, retraining), establishing best practices for robustness and governance.
• Select and manage external ML infrastructure tools and service partners.
• Advocate responsible AI usage and promote a
  - first culture across departments.

Profile Requirements

• 8+ years in data science, including at least 3 years in a leadership role delivering
  - grade ML systems.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, NLP,
  - series forecasting, recommender systems, and ML libraries such as
  - learn, XGBoost, and Py
  Torch.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical work into measurable outcomes.
• Skilled in building diverse teams and presenting complex concepts to
  - technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in agile development settings.
• Familiarity with data warehouses (e. g. , Snowflake), BI tools (e. g. , Looker), and orchestration platforms for deploying ML models.
