Pushing the Edge
The Head of Global IT Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for setting the enterprise‑wide strategic direction for IT infrastructure, including data centers, global networks, telecom, workplace experience, end‑user productivity, servers, storage, Security Operations Center (SOC), disaster recovery services, service desk and site support across all regions (Americas, Asia, and EMEA). This role requires an inspirational leader with deep technical infrastructure expertise, strong project management skills, excellent vendor management capabilities, and a best‑in‑class approach to service delivery. As a member of the IT senior leadership team, you will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise‑wide IT strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global infrastructure strategy, architecture, and service delivery standards.
- Monitor technological advancements to ensure solutions remain innovative, secure, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Leverage AI to improve day‑to‑day IT infrastructure operations and SOC delivery, driving automation, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency.
- Track metrics, KPIs, and SLAs to drive IT service delivery performance.
- Oversee 24x7 global operations for IT infrastructure and production support, including servers, storage, databases, network operations, data centers, desktop support, service desk, identity access management, Security Operations Center (SOC), backup management, disaster recovery, and site support.
- Manage service delivery for enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Office solutions, cloud infrastructure, and other shared technologies.
- Ensure high availability and low latency for critical R&D/Engineering environments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global, cross‑cultural team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical upskilling.
- Optimize infrastructure and operations costs while improving system performance and meeting service‑level requirements.
- Proactively identify and implement measures to prevent issues and maintain high service levels.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Own the budget for Global IT Infrastructure and IT Security, including monitoring and reporting.
- Partner with Risk Management to develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Maintain governance programs ensuring compliance with security controls and regulatory requirements (CCPA, GDPR, ISO9001/ISO27001).
- Stay current on security tools, techniques, and trends in cyber threats.
- Ensure all solutions meet legal, compliance, internal controls, and accounting standards.
Required Experience
- Minimum 15 years in IT, with 7–10 years in senior leadership roles covering both infrastructure and IT security in environments with strong R&D/Engineering presence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering required.
- Proven success managing global teams across multiple regions.
- Crisis management expertise for major outages or cyber incidents.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their strategic application to business needs.
- Strong financial and resource management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, and communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
- Executive presence and ability to engage senior leaders effectively.
- Fluent English required.
