The Role
The Head of Procurement is responsible for defining and executing the company’s procurement strategy in line with overall business objectives. This role oversees global procurement operations, supplier management, and contract negotiations while ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The position plays a critical role in analyzing market trends, managing supply risks, and driving continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Tasks
- Define, lead, and execute the company’s strategic and operational procurement activities.
- Provide leadership and oversight to the global procurement team, fostering performance, accountability, and development.
- Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies, policies, and objectives aligned with business needs.
- Lead supplier selection, onboarding, development, and performance management to build a
- fit supplier portfolio. - Negotiate, implement, and manage supplier and service contracts to ensure value, quality, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply risks, and define appropriate mitigation actions.
- Consolidate and optimize internal demand across categories to leverage scale and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Align procurement plans with forecasted needs from business and support units, considering inventory targets and warehouse capacity.
- Drive cost optimization and savings initiatives while maintaining service and quality standards.
- Oversee and coordinate tactical procurement activities, including RFQs, negotiations, and contract finalization.

Procurement tools and processes (e. g. , SRM systems) to increase efficiency and transparency. - Integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into procurement policies and practices, when required by the organization.
- Manage and control the procurement unit’s budget and ensure effective cost governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e. g. , CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, including leadership of teams and complex sourcing initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier and service provider relationships effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a
- paced environment and adapt to changing market conditions. - Solid understanding of supply chain processes, risk management, and cost optimization levers.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Excel.
