We are looking for a Head of Product – Platform to join our team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you will own the vision, roadmap, and execution of Bloq. it’s core platform—the foundation that powers our services, APIs, and
- scale Io
T device management—balancing product outcomes with strong technical stewardship across architecture, scalability, and
- debt reduction.

What will be your responsibilities

• Own the Platform vision & roadmap (APIs, services, data, identity, device management), aligning with Product and Engineering to unlock scale and developer velocity.
• Define platform architecture standards—modularization, microservices,
  - driven patterns, data contracts, and SLOs—ensuring reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Lead modernization programs (monolith decomposition, refactors, consolidation), creating clear migration plans that reduce tech debt without disrupting delivery.
• Productize the platform: establish
  -
  -
  - product practices (DX, documentation, SDKs, versioning, backward compatibility), driving adoption across internal squads and partners.
• Io
  T at scale: set capabilities for device provisioning, identity/PKI, telemetry ingestion, command & control, OTA orchestration, and fleet health observability.
• Establish measurable KPIs (availability, latency, change failure rate, lead time, platform adoption/usage, unit cost), and run an experimentation/rollout strategy (canaries, feature flags).
• Build and lead a
  - functional platform group (PMs, Staff/Principal engineers, architects), fostering a culture of clarity, ownership, and outcomes.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• 8 + years in product and/or engineering for cloud platforms, with 4 + years leading platform or
  - architecture initiatives in
  - growth environments.
• Demonstrated success designing and evolving microservices/event-driven architectures (e. g. , Kafka/MSK, queues, streams) and migrating legacy systems for scale.
• Deep,
  - on understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred: EKS, API Gateway, IAM, Io
  T Core, Lambda, S3, RDS/Postgre
  SQL, Elasti
  Cache/Redis), Kubernetes, Ia
  C (Terraform/Helm), and observability (Open
  Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Proven experience managing large Io
  T fleets (MQTT/Web
  Sockets, device identity & certificates, OTA pipelines, device twins/state sync,
  -
  - cloud data flows).
• Strong API product skills (REST/g
  RPC, versioning, Open
  API, rate limiting, auth
  N/Z, RBAC), with a track record improving developer experience and
  -
  - integrate.
• Ability to balance product
  - offs (build vs. buy,
  -
  - market vs.platform health) and influence senior stakeholders with crisp,
  - driven reasoning.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.

Extra valued skills

• Domain-Driven Design,
  - team topologies, and internal platform/product marketplace experience.
• Data platform exposure (CDC, stream processing, warehousing, lakehouse) supporting
  -
  - time operational use cases.
• Experience in security & compliance for platforms (secure bootstrapping, secrets management, SOC 2/ISO 27001 alignment).
