Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Risk & Compliance to lead and enhance our risk and compliance functions at Restart Capital. This role places significant emphasis on compliance, ensuring our firm adheres to all legal, regulatory, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal background with extensive experience in regulated environments and risk management proficiency.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Compliance Leadership:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework that supports the firm’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance operations, ensuring adherence to legal standards and proactive adaptation to regulatory changes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, maintaining effective communication and ensuring the firm’s operations comply rigorously with industry regulations.
- Manage audits and assessments to verify compliance efficacy and mitigate potential areas of concern.
- Collaborate closely with legal departments to interpret regulatory mandates and ensure their implementation across all business units.
- Promote a culture of integrated risk management, defining risk appetite and monitoring risk exposures throughout the organization.
- Develop and execute risk management strategies that align with compliance policies and protect the firm from potential threats.
- Conduct risk assessments and analyses, utilizing insights to create effective mitigation strategies and business continuity plans.
Integration and Collaboration:
- Build strong relationships with management and operational teams, embedding compliance into every aspect of business operations.
- Effectively communicate compliance and risk issues to the board of directors and business leaders, providing actionable insights for
- making. - Implement training programs to enhance risk and compliance awareness among employees at all levels.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Prepare and present comprehensive compliance reports, offering clear recommendations for enhancements and adjustments.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring timely communication and strategic consideration within the firm’s operations.
Role Requirements:
- Degree in Law, or alternatively in Management, Economics, Auditing, Finance with substantial compliance experience.
- Extensive experience in compliance leadership, within regulated environments such as the banking sector, real estate investment funds, or management firms.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on compliance data evaluation within a regulated setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory reporting and policy implementation.
- Influential communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in dealing with regulatory entities.
- Strategic thinking and perseverance in navigating complex compliance frameworks.
- Proven leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Effective presentation skills, able to distill complex compliance information.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power
Point, Visio). - Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
