Overview
This Senior Manager leads the Health Care Compliance (HCC) program in Portugal for Med
Tech (including Vision). The role reports to the HCC Director Med
Tech Midsize Markets & HCCO Med
Tech Benelux. The position is based in Lisbon and oversees HCC programs in Portugal for Med
Tech. The incumbent must work from the Lisbon office (Porto Salvo) for a minimum of three days per week and be physically based in Lisbon.
Responsibilities
- Partner with company executive leadership to ensure that the HCC program effectively prevents and/or detects violations of law, regulations, policies, or the Code of Conduct.
- Establish and chair the local Compliance Committee and lead decision making related to compliance matters.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to embed compliant and ethical practices in

- day operations. - Translate global strategies into local objectives, considering local regulatory trends and environment.
- Represent the local governance structures and create platforms for business
- in and impact analysis. - Consult on Health Care Professional (HCP) and Government Official (GO) oriented activities per the HCBI Guide; review and approve where required.
- Promote innovative approaches to HCPs and GOs consistent with HCC/HCBI guidelines and perform business plan reviews.
- Collaborate with J&J Government Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and external organizations to shape the environment and industry codes of conduct (e. g. , Med
Tech Europe Code). - Provide guidance, education, training, and regular communications on HCC matters to all covered employees.
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments as part of the Quarterly Risk Review to identify gaps in the HCC Program.
- Develop and implement a monitoring plan to demonstrate program effectiveness and engage the Board as appropriate.
- Coordinate preparations and support for Corporate Internal Audits.
- Coordinate the establishment of the Management Action Plan and guide business partners to close gaps and implement corrective actions.

- compliance as needed. - Lead locally required MENAC corruption prevention activities; coordinate
- functional and external efforts to ensure regulatory compliance and a culture of integrity. - Monitor ethical values, ensure management involvement, and track corruption risks and preventive measures.
- Prepare and update the Risk Prevention Plan and monitor its implementation; ensure timely communication and reporting of Code of Conduct and risk reports.
- Monitor the Internal Whistleblowing Channel to protect whistleblowers and ensure confidentiality and

- interest controls. - Identify training needs in ethics and integrity and contribute to training programs.
- Update Regulatory Compliance Program instruments as needed.
- Partner with Global/Regional HCC teams to develop and implement policies and SOPs; tailor global policies to reflect local requirements.

Tech systems that collect, audit, analyze, and report compliance information. - Ensure external reporting is met per local regulations and internal reporting per enterprise requirements.
- Interface with legal counsel on HCC requirements and interpretation; collaborate with global/regional HCC communities to share best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum BA/BS required; an advanced degree is preferred but not required.
- 8 years of experience in Health Care Compliance; experience in Finance/Controllership or project management is required. Knowledge of Portuguese laws and industry standards is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Broad business experience with the ability to influence decisions and partners.
- Ability to manage complex situations and develop solutions that support compliant growth.
- Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work with ambiguity.
- Minimum eight years of business experience (prior Health Care Compliance preferred);
- starter with a proven track record; people management experience is a plus. - English and Portuguese language proficiency are mandatory.
