Your Role
As the Senior Cloud Architect for Healthcare Digital in Data & IT R&D, you will design efficient, scalable cloud architectures for R&D. As the point of contact for the R&D business, you translate complex requirements into technical concepts. Your technical experience allows you to oversee the work of internal & external implementation teams and provide guidance & best practices. You bring
- on project experience, ideally with continuous deployment concepts, across the Pharmaceutical R&D value chain. You are comfortable leading matrix teams in a
- paced environment. You will be designing & implementing scalable,
- performance cloud solutions. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, including data engineers, business analysts, IT specialists, and domain users, to understand functional needs and ensure proper solution delivery. You will design & manage the Healthcare R&D system landscape according to our standards and capability maps. You will create technology blueprints, standards, and best practices, and provide troubleshooting &
- level support for Healthcare R&D systems. You will provide guidance & mentoring for team members and promote knowledge sharing. This position can be performed fully remotely from Portugal.
Responsibilities
- You have a Master’s degree in computer science or a similar qualification.
- You have a minimum of 6 years of experience as an expert in AWS cloud architecture.
- You possess
- depth knowledge of Snowflake's architecture and data warehousing concepts, ideally with a minimum of 3 years of experience. - You have experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) based on Azure Dev
Ops and GIT, ideally with a minimum of 3 years of experience. - You have ideally 3 years of experience working in

- code expertise utilizing Cloud
Formation and Terraform. - You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an expert in container architectures, Kubernetes (esp. AWS EKS), and/or AWS ECS.
- You have strong SQL skills and expertise in SQL optimization techniques (optional).
- You are familiar with the development of data processing pipelines using Step Functions, Glue, Athena, and Lambda, e. g. , by adding automated data health checks (optional).
- You have experience with ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data governance (optional).
- You possess solid awareness of data security and compliance requirements relevant to the healthcare industry (optional).
- You have solid experience in application monitoring and health checks. You have solid knowledge of agile implementation methods and common project tools.
- You are proficient in English.
