Drive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Human Resources Generalist at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Develop business partnership relationships with Management and employees through professional advisory advice and support to the Human Resources function
- Communicate effectively, establishing and maintaining effective relationships between employees and the various levels of management
- Demonstrate solid skills in problem identification and resolution, as well as skills in customer‑supplier/partner interaction
- Support the Product Leadership Culture, which defines Borg
Warner as a world leader in Propulsion Systems and retains the best talent in each area - Assist in relational counseling between employees, orientation of new employees, outplacement/counseling and exit interviews
- Promote team progress, take initiative on challenging responsibilities and create opportunities where none exist
- Coordinate recruitment activities to ensure that the best talent is selected
- Create an environment to support the continuous development of talent, using processes and continuous improvement
- Diagnose organizational development needs, implement effective solutions and build efficient teams
- In partnership with other colleagues, identify training needs and design training programs that support organizational change management initiatives and the knowledge and skills development needs of all in‑house talent
- In partnership with the Training area, coordinate and conduct in‑house training programs and assess their effectiveness
- Coordinate relocation and internal mobility activities
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvements in department effectiveness and services provided
- Work on salary administration and benefit projects as required
- Lead employee activities and sponsored events
- Participate in and/or lead special group projects when required
- Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all areas
- Comply with environmental, safety, health and energy, quality and prevention standards
- Comply with the organization’s rules and internal regulations, Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule
- Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules

Requirements & Competencies
- Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Management or a similar area
- Master’s will be considered an asset
- 5 or more years of professional experience in Human Resources
- Domain knowledge of human resources management areas
- Very good knowledge of labor legislation
- Very good knowledge of recruitment and selection techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
