Hybrid Virtualization Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain virtualization platforms including Azure VMware Solution (AVS), Azure Stack HCI, Red
 Hat Open
 Shift, VMware v
 Sphere/v
 Center/ESXi/NSX/v
 SAN.
- Perform regular maintenance: software updates, patching, upgrades, backups.
- Monitor health and performance, proactively address issues.
- Manage incident, request, and change tickets in Service
 Now following ITIL best practices.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and availability, including DR and HA.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (cloud, network, storage, security, application).
- Participate in on‑call rotation and support planned and emergency maintenance windows.
- Plan and maintain User Stories and tasks in Azure Dev
 Ops.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in virtualization engineering or similar infrastructure role.
- Experience with on‑premises and cloud virtualization technologies: VMware, Azure VMware Solution, Azure Stack HCI, Red Hat Open
 Shift.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (Service
 Now) and ticket‑based support models.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Power
 Shell, Bash, Ansible).
- Knowledge of networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery, patching, monitoring in virtualized and hybrid cloud environments.
- Certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat) are a plus.
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

- Hands‑on deployment, configuration, workload migration, integration with Azure services for AVS.
- Proficient in Azure Stack HCI cluster management, SDN/SD‑storage, updates via Azure Arc.
- Solid knowledge of Red Hat Open
 Shift installation, cluster management, upgrades, container networking, CI/CD.
- Experience with backup and DR tools such as Commvault, Azure Backup, VMware Update Manager.
- Monitoring and performance tuning with v
 Realize Operations, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace.
- Automation and scripting (Power
 Shell, Bash, Ansible, YAML/JSON).
- Networking and storage concepts: VLANs, virtual switches, i
 SCSI, NFS, hybrid connectivity (Express
 Route).
- Implementing security/compliance controls (RBAC, patching, hardened templates, network policies).
- Understanding of Azure ARM, Azure IAM, Azure Arc.
- Infrastructure as code with Terraform, ARM templates.
- Service
 Now incident, request, change handling aligned with ITIL.
