Join Our Team as an IB Economics Teacher!

Are you passionate about shaping young minds and inspiring the next generation of global thinkers? United Lisbon is seeking a dynamic and experienced IB Economics Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school team.

We are looking for an educator who not only excels in delivering
- quality instruction but is also eager to build a thriving,
- respected Economics department. You will have the opportunity to introduce foundational economic concepts to Grades 9 and 10, while fostering a love for inquiry and critical thinking in our IB students.

If you have the vision, energy, and expertise to create an engaging and rigorous learning experience, we’d love to hear from you! An additional ability to teach Business Management or another subject is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• We are seeking someone who is excited to develop, create and nurture a department with senior support.
• Deliver engaging and effective IB Economics lessons, catering to a diverse, multicultural student body.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and integrate global perspectives into the curriculum.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students, fostering both academic achievement and personal growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement intervention sessions for underperforming students.
• Utilize technology and innovative teaching resources to enhance student engagement and learning.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and committees to contribute to the broader school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of educational best practices.
• Help to develop key links with local universities and business to inspire our students.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economics or a closely related field.
• Recognized teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching the IB (AP) Economics curriculum is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• High Proficiency in English
• A team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently.
