PACO is Portugal’s leading personal assistant and lifestyle management company, supporting entrepreneurs, families, and professionals. After four years of rapid operational growth, we are now strengthening our internal finance function with a dedicated
- house Chartered Accountant (TOC).

We are looking for a highly competent,
- driven TOC who can bring structure, accuracy, and accountability to our financial operations. This is a critical role with full ownership of PACO’s accounting, compliance, and financial processes.

? The Role

You will be responsible for managing the entire finance and accounting function of PACO — ensuring compliance with Portuguese law, maintaining clean books, managing cash flow, and establishing reliable internal financial systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, builds strong financial processes, and wants to make a measurable impact inside a growing company.

? Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Compliance

• Full responsibility for PACO’s accounting cycle in accordance with Portuguese legislation
• Monthly and annual closings (fecho de contas)
• VAT submissions, IRS/IRC obligations, retenção na fonte, and SAF-T
• Managing invoicing, issuing receipts, and ensuring
  - Fatura compliance
• Payroll processing and coordination with HR

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Bank reconciliation (weekly and monthly)
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Monthly financial statements
• Preparing financial reports for the founders
• Managing supplier payments and schedules

Systems & Internal Controls

• Implementing and improving accounting systems (e. G. , Primavera, Sage, PHC — open to recommendation)
• Ensuring reconciliation between Stripe and accounting software
• Creating internal procedures for invoicing, expenses, payments, and reporting
• Building reliable processes that scale with the company’s growth

? What We're Looking For

• Certified Contabilista Certificado (TOC) — mandatory
• 3+ years of experience managing full accounting cycles in Portugal
• Strong knowledge of VAT, IRC/IRS,
  - Fatura, retention at source, and SAF-T
• Experience with SMEs, service businesses, or subscription models is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable recommending — and implementing — better systems and processes
• Ability to work independently and own the entire finance function
• Good written and spoken English
