The Opportunity

This is not a traditional
- house legal role. We are seeking a proactive and
- savvy lawyer to become a cornerstone of our operations. You will be a key strategic partner, providing expert legal guidance across a wide spectrum of our business activities. You will have the autonomy to manage complex legal tasks, from drafting critical contracts to navigating the bureaucratic landscape for our expansion on the Island.

What You'll Do

• Corporate & Commercial Law:Act as the legal lead on all corporate matters. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of critical documents including letters of intent, company policies, and service terms and conditions.
• Real Estate Law:Manage all legal aspects of property transactions. You will be responsible for drafting and finalizing Purchase and Sale Agreements (CPCVs) and conducting comprehensive land registry searches.
• Employment Law:Shape our growing team by drafting employment contracts and developing internal HR policies that ensure compliance and foster a positive work environment.
• Due Diligence & Compliance:Be the first line of defense in our strategic growth. You will conduct thorough due diligence for company acquisitions and property purchases, and develop robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risk.
• Government & Notarial Liaison:Be our
  - on representative. You will personally handle essential bureaucratic tasks, including liaising with the city hall, Finanças, and other government agencies and manage notarial requirements.
• Legal Representation:Confidently represent the company's interests in meetings, negotiations, and other proceedings where legal oversight is critical.
• A. I. Integration & Innovation:Embrace and champion the use of AI in your legal work. You will learn to leverage new technologies to streamline document review, legal research, and workflow management.
• Litigation:In a legal proceeding, you would be expected to the direct the legal action/response, whether you are leading an outside law firm or performing the motions directly.

What You'll Bring

• Education:Law Degree (with bar registration)Postgraduate studies in areas such as Corporate, Labor, Real Estate Law and negotiation are valued;
• Experience:Demonstrable experience in a law firm or
  - house legal department.
• Proven Expertise:Deep knowledge and practical experience in Portuguese employment, corporate, real estate, and contract law.
• Language Proficiency:Full professional fluency in both Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Tech-Forward Mindset:A genuine interest in technology and a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, especially the A. I. -powered legal technology that the company already utilizes.
• Exceptional Detail Orientation:A meticulous approach to drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documentation and processes meeting the legal standards defined by the Managing Director.
