SAP recently unified its Sovereign Cloud offerings, establishing an

- end process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The new Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit, part of SAP Customer Services and Delivery, oversees the Sovereign Cloud portfolio. It collaborates closely with all Board areas to create a harmonized, scalable, and transparent service offering.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We seek an Infrastructure Development Engineer within the Shared Management Services (SMS) group in the Technology & Engineering unit of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team, under the Product Engineering board area.

You will join the Technology and Engineering team, collaborating with global SAP Sovereign Cloud engineering and operations experts responsible for designing, developing, deploying, upgrading, and managing the Sovereign Cloud Shared Management Services platform and services.

You will promote innovation, implement disciplined and standardized processes, and address operational gaps to maximize efficiency. You will manage backup and disaster recovery drills to ensure readiness and help improve our infrastructure management practices, documentation, and knowledge base, ensuring alignment with hyperscaler capabilities.

This role requires coordination with global, regional teams, and hyperscaler partners.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, engineering, or equivalent experience
• Ability to manage ambiguity, innovate, and collaborate
• Technical skills in various technologies, tools, procedures, and programming languages used by development and operations

• Experience with provisioning/support of cloud services via Terraform and/or Ansible

CORE TASKS MAY INCLUDE

• Collaborating with engineering, project management, and other service groups
• Driving product and engineering roadmap fulfillment
• Defining operational models, processes, and documentation
• Executing technical tasks within responsibilities
• Contributing to milestones and project activities
• Providing project status updates
• Enhancing system landscape support
• Supporting software lifecycle operations
• Knowledge sharing within the team

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Deep understanding of infrastructure topics
• At least 3 years managing or deploying technical infrastructure globally
• Knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security, IAM, orchestration for cloud solutions
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD, GIT
• Knowledge of security technologies (e. g. , CAs, m
  TLS, o
  Auth, LDAP, TLS, WAF) is a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Experience with Sovereign Cloud and SAP infrastructure management is advantageous

Willingness to undergo a security clearance process is required due to the nature of the work.
