Interim Head of Supply Chain - Assignment Brief
A Portuguese subsidiary of a global multinational is recruiting an Interim Head of Supply Chain to supervise and optimize supply chain operations. This position will be responsible for leading the transformation of operations, ensuring the effectiveness of supply chain management, and aligning strategies with business objectives.
The Interim Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for:
- Supervising and optimizing purchasing, logistics, stock management, production planning, and transportation operations.
- Developing and implementing strategies to promote operational efficiency, cost reduction, and alignment of the supply chain with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Working closely with senior management to ensure that the supply chain function supports the company’s growth plans and
- term objectives. - Transitional position, in a full-time onsite capacity, with an expected duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the project’s needs.
- Lead the transformation and optimization of supply chain operations.
- Implement best practices to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure operational excellence.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and key partners to ensure process continuity.
- Collaborate with other departments to align the supply chain strategy with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvements in logistics, purchasing, and stock management processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards, including sustainability practices.
- Provide leadership to the team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Support the transition of the current role holder, collaborating in the identification and mentoring of the new leader.
Type of Service Agreement
- Interim Management position, with a fixed-term contract (approximately 6 months), with the possibility of extension.
- Proven experience in senior supply chain management roles, preferably as Head of Supply Chain or similar positions.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate
- functional teams. - Experience in managing large-scale transformation or optimization projects.
- Ability to make strategic decisions under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Robust analytical skills, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous process optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management systems, ERPs, and automation and data analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Relevant professional certifications in Supply Chain or Logistics (e. g. , CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent) are highly valued.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in supply chain management and transformation projects.
- Fluency in Portuguese is essential; English knowledge is required. French is a plus.
- Competitive and negotiable daily/monthly rate, based on experience and performance.
