We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Alternatives team at Mercer. This role will be based in Porto or Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Overview
Mercer Alternatives team is a global specialist in alternative investments, including private markets. We offer advisory services and customized and pooled investment solutions for institutional investors across various asset classes, including private equity, debt, infrastructure, real estate, and hedge funds.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fund manager due diligence, involving a broad set of qualitative and quantitative considerations with a special focus on infrastructure.
- Work with the local and onshore teams in producing manager research deliverables.
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in leading the manager research vertical.
- Contribute to the investment
- making and
- selection processes. - Maintain the proprietary databases updated.
- Monitor portfolio performance and markets trends.
- Develop reports for internal, external client presentations.
What you need to have
- Fluent English level (C1/C2).
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Basic knowledge of private markets asset classes, including Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure, and Real Estate is preferred.
- Experience in global markets with adequate exposure in alternative asset classes.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic,
- performing team environment, supporting colleagues while independently managing your own tasks and projects. - Effective communication skills to engage with various teams across Mercer and collaboratively solve problems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and
- oriented, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build positive working relationships across the organization. - Strong critical thinking skills to navigate and resolve challenges.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other core Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power
Point, etc. ).
What makes you stand out
- Research experience with asset management firms.
- CFA/CAIA Charter holder and/or progress towards CFA and/or CAIA at advance levels is preferred.
