About the role
The IT Business Engagement Lead is responsible for ensuring a clear identification of Regional/Group Functional Business Systems (IT) needs and their effective translation to corresponding detailed business requirements. This is a regional position covering the EMEA region. Continuous engagement and communication with key regional and group functional stakeholders will further aid the requirement development process by ensuring close alignment and relevancy to the business needs, maximizing the value delivered by Orica’s Business Systems (IT) to the organization.
What you will be doing
As the IT Business Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the collection and analysis of IT business needs from Regional/Group stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the company strategic objectives.
- Develop and document clear, detailed business requirements to support the design and delivery of solutions.
- Maintain continuous engagement with stakeholders to validate requirements, manage scope, and incorporate feedback throughout the process.
- Collaborate closely with Engineers (Applications and Processes) to ensure requirements are accurately translated into system designs and solutions.
- Partner with the Strategy and Governance team to align initiatives with the Technology Roadmap and support the development of related artifacts.
- Identify and escalate potential risks or issues to the Senior Manager – Business Engagement in a timely manner.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business, promoting best practices and ensuring ownership of outcomes.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a
- related discipline. - 5+ years in a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong experience with SAP products (implementation, enhancement, and integration).
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information gathered from business needs identification.
- Ability to document business requirements in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong leadership, management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Independent worker who can take ownership and drive projects to completion.
- Project Management experience – relevant certifications are valued.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; other languages are advantageous.
- Availability to travel up to 25% of the time across our EMEA sites.
