Java Backend Developer (Mid/Senior) Lisboa

Overview

Emagine is currently seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer (Mid/Senior) to join an exciting
- term assignment with one of our international clients. This is a strategic opportunity to contribute to the evolution of a
- scale retail platform, ensuring performance, reliability, and innovation across distributed systems in a modern cloud environment.

The selected professionals will be part of a collaborative engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing backend services that power critical
- facing applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services using Java (newer versions preferred) and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to
  - based architectures running on Azure Cloud, with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Collaborate with
  - functional teams to build reliable and performant APIs (using Graph
  QL Federation).
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work in an Agile setup with international colleagues and stakeholders.

You bring

• Solid experience developing backend systems with Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, Azure Cloud, and Git
  Hub.
• Understanding of distributed architectures and microservices.
• Nice to have: experience with Kotlin, Open
  Telemetry (OTEL), or Micronaut.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Location: Portugal (Remote or hybrid in Lisbon)
