randstad SSC is recruiting for a client, a renowned bank that´s seeking a Junior Accounting controller

Responsibilities

1. Your role:
   • Oversee the certification of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Off-Balance Sheet, and Reconciliation between economic and accounting P&L on a monthly and quarterly basis.
   • Identify and substantiate in detail any gaps in methodology for financial production activities of the CIB (Equity, Commodities, Financing, or Fixed Income activities).
   • Investigate the necessity to post accounting/financial adjustments to ensure accurate data.
   • Contribute to quarterly closing controls to enhance data quality.
   • Coordinate with Market Risk teams, Support departments (middle and back offices), and other Finance departments (Financial Permanent Control, Norms, Statutory, and Social Accounting).
   • Justify accounting standard differences (between French GAAP and IFRS GAAP).
   • Control internal P&L and justify all accounts within your perimeter.
2. Additional information:
   • Work is carried out at the end of each month according to a shared schedule with other Finance departments, especially during quarterly closings.
   • You will be part of a
     - localized team with a local manager and a functional manager based in Paris, with regular interactions.
   • Support the development of internal Finance tools (e. g. , Matisse, e
     Match, Summit, MUREX, UBIX) and internal repositories.

Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting and ideally bank accounting.
• Knowledge of CIB products and activities is appreciated.
• Good knowledge of database management.
• Advanced skills in Excel and Word; Access is a plus.
• Some expertise in Power BI is a plus.
• Previous experience in accounting or external audit, preferably in a business area.
• Quick logical thinking to control data acquisition & treatment, detect anomalies, and analyze root causes.
• English level C1; French is a plus.
