Join Siemens Mobility Portugal for a dynamic role in our global engineering and technology services team. As a leader in sustainable transportation, we innovate solutions for electrification, automation, and digitization.

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will contribute to designing, developing, and deploying data analytics and machine learning models that provide actionable insights to railway operators worldwide.

You will:

• Develop and test machine learning models to analyze asset performance, usage patterns, and maintenance needs.
• Work closely with Data Engineers and Dev
  Ops to integrate models into scalable,
  - based applications (AWS).
• Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and transformation on large datasets using SQL and Python-based tools.
• Collaborate on creating new analytics features for existing products and support new MVP development.
• Break down complex problems into clear tasks (Epics → User Stories) for product development cycles.

Your Qualifications:

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Solid foundation in machine learning, including model selection, tuning, and validation.
• Experience with relational databases (e. g. , PL/SQL, Postgre
  SQL).
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, especially AWS.
• Basic knowledge of Python, data science libraries (e. g. , pandas,
  - learn), and version control (e. g. , Git).
• Strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.
• Fluent English skills (written and spoken).
