About the Project
Floating offshore wind is one of the most promising renewable energy frontiers. With less than 0. 25 GW installed worldwide in 2024 and the first commercial projects expected after 2030, the sector is emerging but faces major technological, environmental, and industrial challenges.
This Interreg project aims to place Europe at the forefront of floating offshore wind by:
- Building a consolidated European partnership in the Atlantic region focused on innovation.
- Laying the foundation for a transnational testing infrastructure with shared governance.
- Providing coordinated and operational responses to challenges faced by test sites, ensuring maximum benefits for local and regional territories.
Role Description
We are seeking a Junior Engineer / Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team. You will support the development of innovative solutions and contribute to the design of a European testing infrastructure for
- power floating wind technologies (+10 MW capacity per turbine).
Your role may include:
- Assisting in technical assessments, testing challenges, and integration of floating wind prototypes in the European context. Supporting research, data/information collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Contributing to market analysis, governance models,
- benefit studies, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Supporting the development of transnational frameworks for infrastructure and shared governance.
You will work under the supervision of senior experts while having the opportunity to interact with academic, industrial, and policy partners across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research, data gathering, and technical analyses relevant to floating offshore wind testing.
- Assist in drafting reports, guidelines, and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of workshops, events, and
- sharing activities across the Atlantic region. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Engineers, environmental experts, economists, policymakers).
- Ensure timely and accurate contributions to project deliverables.
Profile
- Education: Recent graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior internship, project, or thesis experience in renewable energy, maritime industries, or innovation projects is desirable but not required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and
- solving abilities. - Interest in renewable energy, offshore technologies, and/or sustainable infrastructure.
- Good communication and writing skills in Portuguese and English (knowledge of other European languages is a plus).
- Ability to work in a collaborative, international environment.
- Self-motivated, with capacity to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
- Driven license
Language Requirements:
- Portuguese (fluent) and English (fluent);
French and Spanish are appreciated but not mandatory.
