We are looking for a Junior / Mid Backend Software Engineer (Workflow & Automation) to join our Client's team on a hybrid working model.

Work Model:

• Professionals living up to 70 km from the Lisbon office: 2 days per WEEK

• Professionals living more than 70 km from the Lisbon office: 2 days per MONTH
  - site

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with architects and systems analysts to understand software requirements and participate in solution design
• Design and develop new features and improvements focused on automation, workflows, and AI-related projects
• Use low-code platforms to build automation modules and develop Java-based or PHP-based components
• Develop and integrate backend solutions following best practices
• Organize, prioritize, and manage development tasks effectively
• Contribute to the technical growth and evolution of junior team members
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 1–2 years of professional experience in similar software engineering roles
• Experience in automation-focused projects
• Experience with RPA / workflow solutions such as Flowable, BPMN, or Camunda
• Solid understanding of OOP concepts and backend development with Java OR PHP (experience in both is not required)
• Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services
• Good understanding of relational databases (My
  SQL and SQL Server )
• Experience with Git and Maven
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team spirit, initiative, and good communication skills
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• Good spoken and written Portuguese and English
