OPAR Perfumes is an artisanal perfumery born in Lisbon, Portugal. In our labs customers with our perfumers create their personal fragrances, as unique as they are. Our specialty are niche fragrances that become a signature scents of our customers, blended on the spot. As we are growing into more locations in Portugal and abroad, we are looking for talented and skilled perfumers to join our international team in Lisbon.

Role Description

As a Junior Perfumer, you will be responsible for the creation, development, and formulation of fragrances for a variety of products, including personal fragrance, home fragrance and cosmetics. You will combine your deep knowledge of fragrance raw materials with your perfumer's skills and ability to listen to customer’s needs to craft unique and captivating scents that align with customer preferences and brand briefs.

Key Responsibilities

• Custom Fragrance Creation : Develop and create custom fragrances during 1-2-1 appointments by blending a wide range of raw materials, ensuring that each fragrance meets the desired olfactory profile of the client's needs.
• Client Service: Work closely with clients during the whole
  - making appointment to understand their fragrance needs and preferences.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging fragrance ingredients, and new perfumery techniques. Experiment with new materials and technologies to push the boundaries of scent creation. Create briefs & samples for the new signature perfumes.  
• Creative Perfumer's support : Work closely with the creative perfumer and perfume house in the New Product Development process
• Formula Documentation : Maintain detailed records of fragrance formulations and evaluations. Ensure accurate and organized documentation of all work to facilitate future reproductions and modifications.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all fragrances meet the highest quality and safety standards, adhering to industry regulations regarding fragrance ingredients and labeling.
• Retail management: Taking care of basic retail activities at the lab like opening and closing of the day, customer's inquiry replies, space daily maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a related field. A formal education in perfumery from a recognized perfumery school is highly desirable.
• Experience in perfumery field is a must have
• Exceptional olfactory skills, with the ability to identify and work with a wide range of raw materials
• Creativity, artistic talent, and a passion for fragrance creation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Fluent in English. Portuguese ans Spanish is a nice to have.
• Quality oriented and with a strong attention to detail
• Cheerful personality and willingness to be a team player
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience in the beauty, personal care or retail industry is a plus
• Willing to relocate to Lisbon, Portugal
